Seeking a new Graphic Designer/Office Assistant!

Wembé is an organic soap company located in Dumbo. Our office is small and composed of young professionals looking to better the world one bathtub at a time. We are currently looking for someone to fill the role as a Graphic Designer/Office Assistant. This is a great opportunity for recent graduates looking to start a career in design/advertising/business. Though we are small now, this position has plenty of room for growth in the future.

Some of the job responsibilities:
- Updating the website.
- Designing brochures and other promotional collateral.
- Basic office duties (answering phones, taking messages, ordering supplies, etc)
- Designing and sending Newsletters.
- Blogging.
- Working with the team regarding promotions/advertising.
- Packing and sending online orders.
- Occasional work at trade shows (Design and planning the booth, sales)

Requirements:
- Someone who is creative with strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Proficient in the Adobe Suite, specifically Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
- Knows HTML/CSS (Flash and Java knowledge preferred but not required).
- Eye for good design.
- Experience with packing/shipping.
- Excellent communication, grammar and spelling.
- A self starter. Can work independently and in a group.
- Sales experience a plus (not required)
- Desire to grow with a company.
- Willing to bring a personal laptop to work.
- Likes dogs, as we have a Husky/Airedale “mascot” that occasionally comes to the office.


Hours are 9am-5pm

Pays $400 for the first month, and $1200/month after
